The Team

Wednesday nights 6pm – 8pm at Byker Community Centre

If you are interested in making great stuff happen, have an idea for a project, are interested in event management, and community projects, then The Team is the place to come and turn your creative energy into a reality.  Come and make food with us, take part in creative and fun activities and learn a heap of new skills.


Young Company is for young people aged 16 - 21 who want to work creatively and collectively to learn and grow together. Our Young Company come from a range of places and backgrounds to take part in new, inclusive and accessible projects with professional artists. 

If you need one-to-one support please bring someone with you, and get in touch with us to tell us how best we can support your creative adventure. All three stages and our rehearsal and meeting spaces are wheelchair accessible.


Sessions are £5 each and are paid for in half term or full term blocks.

We don't want cost to be a barrier and can discuss a payment plan or bursary place for applicants with a household income below £14,500 for single families, or £16,200 for families with two resident parent/guardians.

We are proudly open access – no audition and no previous experience necessary. 

We will be holding taster sessions during the summer. To apply please fill out an online application form.

Where Do We Stand? And Where Do We Belong?

In Apr 2018 Young Company staged Where Do We Stand?, a city spectacle illuminating untold stories and unheard voices on what it is to live, work and dream in Newcastle in 2018.

In Apr 2019 they went on to stage Where Do We Belong?, a vibrant view of what global citizenship looks like through the lens of young Europeans finding their place in the world.
