A new dance theatre production by Indigenous Australian choreographer Gary Lang

The Other Side of Me is inspired by the true story of a young Indigenous Australian man, born (1968) in Australia's Northern Territory, adopted by an English family and raised in a remote hamlet in the Cornish countryside.

The production translates his extraordinary search for identity into movement by combining Indigenous and contemporary Australian dance practices with written words, to communicate the conflicts of an individual living within two very different cultures.

The story is inseparable from the Australian government’s policies to forcibly remove part-Aboriginal children from their families and culture, known as Australia’s Stolen Generations.
