About us News The costumes of A Christmas Carol This Christmas Northern Stage presents a new take on the most Christmassy of Christmas classics - Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Adapted for the stage by the team that brought you The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, James and the Giant Peach and Alice In Wonderland, this new version is set in the 1920s and takes inspiration from the likes of Peaky Blinders and The Great Gatsby for the set and costume design. As a little pre-Christmas treat, here's a sneak peek of a selection of the costume sketches made by our team to give you a taste of this absolutely spectacular Christmas show. A Christmas Carol comes to Northern Stage from Saturday 1 December to Saturday 5 January. Tickets are limited, however there is good availability for shows in late December and early January, including those much sought-after £10 tickets.
