A sparkling and sophisticated production of this intriguing play which combines the brilliant wit and sharp social satire of Oscar Wilde, and the double standards of morality between men and women in late Victorian society.

The seemingly enjoyable afternoon and evening as Lady Hunstanton entertains her guests takes on a series of unforeseen incidents and consequences, as the relationships between Gerald Arbuthnot, Hester Worsley (the American heiress), Lord Illingworth and Mrs Arbuthnot unfold, resulting in an unexpected turn of events leading to a dramatic ending.

This amateur production is presented by Mercurie Theatre.
