In a 1980s New York City apartment, two down-on-their-luck middle-aged lovers are on a first date.

Frankie’s a cynical waitress with a dry sense of humour too wounded to fall in love again. But starry-eyed Johnny, an over-eager chef with his own demons, wants to give romance a second chance.

As the radio plays and moonlight filters through the apartment windows, can Johnny break through Frankie’s defences and turn a one night stand into something more before the sun comes up?

Frank, funny and full of messy sexual politics, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune is a tender and intimate look at the first fragile moments of risking your heart and taking a chance.

Don’t miss this offbeat romantic comedy, first produced in New York 30 years ago with Kathy Bates and F. Murray Abraham and later made into a film starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Al Pacino.
