SAT 9 SEPT - SAT 28 OCT
Do you know a little person who wants to be on a big stage?
We run weekly Saturday drama sessions every season for ages 5-7, ages 8-11 and 12-15.
New season starts Saturday 9th September 2017 culminating in a performance on 28 October.
Over the course of eight Saturday afternoon sessions, participants will play drama games, work with a professional director and create an original piece of theatre based on the children's ideas. This cultivates in a final performance where the groups join together so that you can see the results of their hard work and creative ideas (and of course, give them an enormous round of applause!)
This is a relaxed, no-pressure environment where children can get to know each other and make theatre together.
At Northern Stage we want young performers to have exactly the same opportunities to develop their talent as older artists. This is a perfect opportunity for youngsters to get acquainted with a variety of theatrical approaches, apply what they learn to their school studies and encourages creativity, discipline, teamwork, sharing, confidence and play.
Please contact the Box Office on 0191 230 5151 or book online.
Places cost £55, with a concessionary rate of £40. Bursary placements are available on request.
Sessions for ages 5-7 are 10am – 11.30am, sessions for ages 8-11 are 12pm – 1.30pm and sessions for 12 - 15's are 2pm - 3.30pm.

During the eight weeks, participants will:
- Build their confidence levels and make new friends.
- Work creatively and collaboratively with other young performers their own age.
- Discover and develop their talent for performing and understand how to apply ideas to a creative process.
- Have fun making theatre while receiving a relaxed introduction to technical rehearsal processes and devising.
- Work with a professional director and perform a final show in Stage 2.
"The whole course was fantastic value for money. In addition to learning the performance, they learnt team building skills, gained confidence and generally had fun! My daughter absolutely loved it and she's now looking forward to her school play which she was previously really anxious about. I would definitely recommend these courses to other parents. 10/10 Northern Stage!"
