A Northern Stage production
by Kenneth Grahame
Adapted for the stage by Alan Bennett
With music by Jeremy Sams
The Wind in the Willows is a classic English tale of friendship, fun and adventure. In a very funny and touching adaptation by the brilliant Alan Bennett, we discover the delights of the riverside, the motorcar and the open road, as well as the perils of the Wild Wood and the very real danger of weasels...
When young Mole chances upon an acquaintance with river-loving Ratty, so begins a true friendship. But it's the enigmatic and faddish Toad who sparks the biggest amount of fun, finding himself in a string of scrapes. When he's sentenced to twenty years in gaol for stealing a motorcar, his beautiful ancestral Toad Hall falls prey to the criminally-minded weasel and he'll need all the help of his friends to get it back...
Grahame's magical world of the riverbank, Toad Hall and the Wild Wood is brought to life on Stage 1, populated by all the brilliant animal and human characters that make the novel loved by children and adults alike.
