A Song For Ella Grey

Young Company: A Song for Ella Grey

Our Young Company members have the chance to take part in a major new project with Northern Stage. A Song for Ella Grey by David Almond, directed by Lorne Campbell (Artistic Director of Northern Stage), is a new production coming to Northern Stage in September 2017. Members of our Young Company will create site specific performances across the region that will be captured on film and will feature in  A Song For Ella Grey. You will be working with Lorne Campbell, Martin and Debbie Hylton and Mariam Razaei.  The final show will feature a single actor alongside the Young Company’s filmed and audio recorded performances, and the production will then tour to venues across the UK.

The filming of these extracts will take place across four weeks in the summer holidays. Young Company members can attend one week or all four weeks, depending on your availability. Each week will be in a different location in Newcastle and across the North East. The week will divide into two parts; the first will focus on skills development (voice, movement and script work) and creating the material. The second will be about capturing this on film and audio.

You must be able to commit to a full week Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm each day

Booking will open on Friday 12 May

Places are limited in some weeks, book early to avoid disappointment
