
Share Our Stage - The Art Of Performance in Business Presentation
As the region's largest producing theatre, we don't mind sharing a few tricks of the trade. So we have developed a range of training workshops for individuals who would like to improve their presentation and communication skills. These workshops have been developed in association with the Sponsors Club for Arts and Business.
We run open courses with participants representing a range of organisations including Newcastle Building Society, Newcastle City Council, NGI, Northumbrian Water, Robson Brown, Royal Bank of Scotland, Samuel Phillips, Silverlink Holdings, Newcastle University, Xsite Architecture and UBS Wealth Management) Workshops cater for a range of abilities and we also run an advanced course for experienced presenters.
The workshops introduce ideas and techniques used by actors and directors, to build confidence and boost personal performance. They provide an insight into how theatre practitioners work, in terms of preparation, rehearsal and presentation. Participants learn to recognise individual strengths and how to play to these strengths by finding techniques with which they are comfortable. The workshops also cover practical elements of presentation, including understanding and working with the acoustics in a space, voice projection and how to work with a microphone.
Our workshops are also a great opportunity to make new business contacts from different sectors and socialise and engage with them in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
Corporate workshops can also be booked exclusively and tailored to individual company needs. Our courses make full use of our theatrical spaces, but if you prefer you can have your tailored course delivered at your company premises.
