Kirsty Housely wins our 2011 Title Pending Award
Winner of Northern Stage's 2011 Title Pending award, Kirsty Housley, showcases her production ‘She Stood at the Window’ on Friday 24 July. After an intensive two week residency in our building we are very pleased to be able to help Kirsty put her work in front of an invited audience in the North East audience for the first time.
Kirsty Housley is a writer and director. She was Artistic Director of the Etcetera Theatre in Camden from 2000 - 2003 and is a guest director at East 15 Acting School, The Central School of Speech and Drama, National Theatre Discover and National Theatre Connections. She is currently an Associate Director with Complicite and her most recent play Bandages was commissioned by Newbury Corn Exchange.
Title Pending & Northern Stage
We take our responsibility for nurturing artists very seriously, especially in these uncertain times. Title Pending is Northern Stage's award for new theatre. The most innovative, thoughtful and intriguing proposal receives financial support, a fully supported residency in the theatre, an experienced mentor for the artist and an ongoing commitment to support the future development of the work. In 2011 we received 78 applications from all around the UK. For the last two years Title Pending has been generously supported by the Northern Rock foundation.
