In May, over 20 popular cultural venues opened their doors after-hours as part of The Late Shows, the North East's fantastic free culture crawl. Venues across NewcastleGateshead stayed open after dark on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 May, offering an alternative look at the region's cultural scene.Northern Stage stayed up late for an extra late session with Simon Annand's exhibition, The Half.Over 25 years, photographer Simon Annand has been given unprecedented access to photograph this in-between world that the audience never sees. Discover this collection of over 300 black and white photographs, offering a spellbinding glimpse into the usually off-limits journey from dressing room to stage of some of our most celebrated actors, from John Gielgud to Daniel Radcliffe.For one night only, visitors recreated their own Half images with local photographer Linda Borthwick backstage in our dressing rooms.
