The Little Prince
Adapted for the Stage
by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar

Based on "Let Petit Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
c. Editions Gallimard, 1946 for the original work

An aviator crashes in the middle of the Sahara. His plane is broken, and he is lonely and afraid.  Luckily for him, a strange little man, a prince in fact, arrives to ask him searching questions, tell him enchanting stories and stir his imagination.

At first amused and somewhat bewildered, the Aviator soon remembers the child he once was, the drawings he once drew and most importantly, the person he would much rather be.

"It's all here - interesting, colourful characters and a story that sparks the imagination. Director Neil Murray should take a bow!"
The British Theatre Guide (read the whole review)

"This is children's theatre at its best."
The Stage (read the whole review)

The Little Prince is Northern Stage's Christmas show for children aged 7 and over.  Neil Murray (Grimm Tales, The Snow Queen) directs The Little Prince, recapturing all the magic and imagination that have made his previous shows the 'must-see' Christmas event for all the family.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is one of France's best loved authors and until the introduction of the Euro he appeared on the back of the 50 Franc note.  The Little Prince is said to be one of the world's best selling books, surpassed only by The Bible and Das Kapital.  Sixty years after its first appearance, The Little Prince sells over a million copies each year.

The Little Prince is published by Egmont Books.  Visit their website for games, short stories, videos and information on their wide range of childrens literature.
