Far From The Madding Crowd

21 October 2008 - 25 October, 2008

New Writing

Far From The Madding Crowd
By Thomas Hardy
ETT in a co-production with Exeter Northcott

ETT - responsible for last season’s sell-out Uncle Vanya – vividly brings to life Hardy’s much-loved classic of rivalry, jealousy and obsessive love. When Bathsheba Everdene inherits her property, she finds herself the target of three admirers’ affections, and at the centre of a growing feud destined to end in tragedy.

Far From The Madding Crowd Gallery

Director Kate Saxons's vivid staging will take you on a theatrical journey through Hardy country, with powerful, physical storytelling and live folk song, as one young girl is propelled into womanhood by her experiences of love and loss.

"Haunting... Brooding... Smouldering... A dynamic drama on universal themes."  **** The Guardian
