Drama

COAL
Not With That Hand

Performed by Annie Fitzmaurice and Erika Poole
Directed by Paul Hunter
Designed by Cathy Wren
Original Music by Richard Hammarton

"A brilliantly written comedy with a dark and twisted heart, performed with dazzling verve and charisma."  THE METRO
Two former schoolteachers are banned from working with children following an event that took place years earlier. Holed up in their filthy flat, they follow a bizarre timetable that includes study of the Arthur Miller play The Crucible.

Desperate to return to teaching they plan to open their own school and become missionaries and set off for the third world... without ever leaving their living room.

Using laundry items as children, naming them from the many take-away menus in their flat, they continue to live their lives as school teachers.  But memories of the past resurface at unexpected moments...were the children in the school really called Ezekiel and Mary Warren?

Directed by Paul Hunter, Co-founder of Told By An Idiot, who directed last year's Casanova, Not With That Hand is a hilarious, inventive performance with serious undercurrents that will have you intrigued from the start.
"This is a thought provoking play which stretches the imagination – even the sound effects are spoken by the cast." MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS
Audiences quotes:

"Outstanding.  Couldn't fault it."  "A cut above the rest."
" Beautifully performed.  Elegantly scripted."
"Chaotic with laughs."
