Northern Stage presents
Tattercoats

Written by Susan Mulholland
Directed by Annie Rigby
Designed by Andrew Stephenson

"The magical tale enthralls all... Christmas 2007 will go down as a Tatterweight triumph."  The Northern Echo
"A simply delightful show." The Journal

This year’s Christmas production for children aged 6 and under is the charming English fairytale, Tattercoats.

“You can tell a lot about a person by the coat they wear and this is a very special coat with a very special story.”

And so begins Tattercoats’ story in which our heroine has to contend with a grumpy grandfather and some mean townsfolk before meeting a prince, a magical gooseherder and his dancing geese! With echoes of Cinderella, Tattercoats is a story about being yourself and reminds us that happy endings often turn up in unexpected places.

With a beautiful set designed by Andrew Stephenson (responsible for the fabulous set in Thumbelina, 2006), magical music and dancing geese, Tattercoats is sure to delight our youngest audience members this Christmas.
