Autumn 2008 customer feedback

As many of you know, after every performance we send out a survey via email to all the people who booked. Over the last year and a bit, we've built up a huge database of customer's comments on the theatre, on the service and on the shows.

We do this because we want to know what you like and what you don't, so we can carry on providing you with the kind of experience you would come back to Northern Stage for. That means that sometimes we hear things we need to, things we don't want to, and things we disagree with. Even so, we still want to hear them and we think that you'll be interested in hearing them too.

Therefore, you'll find below links to the complete set of customer feedback comments for each of the shows since September. They're in PDF format, as most people will have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. Please take the time to read them, and use the comments section below to give us your thoughts. We've not edited them at all, except to remove customers names for purposes of anonymity.

In time, all these will be added into the Archive section, helping to build a history of the shows we've put on and received. Look out for feedback running back to September 2007 over the Christmas period.

Waygood Art Boutique @ Northern Stage

A series of exhibitions featuring art from Waygood Art Boutique can be seen in the Dickinson Dees Room at Northern Stage from September 2008 to January 2009. Open during Northern Stage opening hours (except during private events).

Paintings by Iain Clark
Friday 28 November – Saturday 10 January 2009

Paintings of magical forests to co-incide with Northern Stage’s Christmas Show, Hansel & Gretel.

“My current practice is an exploration of my desire to create expressive images and an encounter with the white walls of an empty studio. Emptiness is replaced with an imagined nature and an unending path. The wood motif is used to explore the experience of artistic practice and the path is the direction with in it.” – Iain Clark

Waygood is an artist-led gallery and studios undergoing a major £7.8million redevelopment to create a new cultural venue on High Bridge in the centre of Newcastle. Whilst the redevelopment continues on the warehouses behind, Waygood Art Boutique, a small selling gallery offering contemporary art by artists associated with Waygood, is open at 31 High Bridge, Newcastle between 12noon and 5pm Wednesdays - Saturdays.

Please ring Waygood on 0191 265 6857 or email boutique@waygood.org for more information or to discuss buying any of the art on display.

VAT and Northern Stage

In light of yesterday's reduction in VAT and the current financial climate, rather than take a few pence off each ticket we want to use the opportunity to provide more tickets at our lowest price and make it easier for anyone to see a show.

Therefore, we've added an additional eighteen £5.50 tickets at the front in Stage 1, and all 16 back row tickets in Stage 2 are also now £5.50.

The price of merchandise and ice creams will be reduced in accordance with the VAT reduction.
