YOUNG PERFORMANCE GROUP

What does it mean to grow up?
When does childhood top and adulthood begin?
What would it be like to live in a world where no-one ever grew up...?

...Straight on Till Morning

This Christmas, we will be producing a fabulous new adaptation of Peter Pan on Stage 1.  I know it is very early to be talking about Christmas but we would like to invite you to be a part of our festive season.

Starting in October, we would like you to work with freelance director Paula Penman to devise one half of a double bill that will explore all of these questions and more.  The other half will be led by another brilliant director and will ask the same questions of our adult Performance Group members. This cross generational piece will be performed on Stage 1on the gorgeous set of Peter Pan.

Places on this project are strictly limited to 20 and there is a one-off fee of £30 (fantastic value at only £3 a session!)  You would need to be able for (most of) the sessions as follows:

All sessions will be from 5.30 to 8.30 in Stage 3

Session 1: Tues 20 October
Session 2: Tues 27 October
Session 3: Tues 10 November
Session 4: Tues 17 November
Session 5: Tues 24 November
Session 6: Tues 1 December
Session 7: Tues 8 December
Session 8: Tues 15 December
CHRISTMAS BREAK 2 WEEKS
Tech Rehearsal: Tues 5 Jan (to 10pm)
Dress Rehearsal: Mon 11 Jan (to 9pm)
PERFORMANCE: Tues 12 Jan @ 7.30pm

To apply for a place please complete the following sentence, in no more than 50 words:

"It would be brilliant if I didn't have to grow up because...."

Email your sentence, along with your name, address and date of birth to jcundall@northernstage.co.uk. PLEASE DO NOT SEND PAYMENT NOW.  The closing date for applications is 25 September 2009 and we will notify successful applicants by 2 October 2009.

Please contact Jo Cundall, Participation & Programming co-ordinator on 0191 242 7217 if you have any questions.
