A night less ordinary banner
Launched in February 2009, A Night Less Ordinary offers thousands of free theatre tickets to anyone under 26 for all sorts of theatre events including comedy, tragedies, musical theatre, dance, modern mime, plays, circus and much more.

As part of this, Live Theatre, Northern Stage and the Theatre Royal have come together to offer at least 20 free tickets a week across the three venues.  Check back here each week to see what's on.

Another quiet month for A Night Less Ordinary, but there's still plenty of free tickets up for grabs if you're under 26.

Terms & Conditions
  • Tickets can be booked by phone or in person. They must be collected in person with appropriate ID at least 30 minutes prior to the performance.  Any tickets not collected by this time will be released for general sale.
  • Tickets can be reserved as part of a larger paying group, the group must then pay for the other tickets under the venues usual reservation guidelines.
  • Maximum of six free tickets per customer transaction.
  • There is a Fair Usage Policy, and the venues reserve the right to deny free tickets. No more than two visits per theatre will be permitted during a four month period. 
  • Tickets are released for “sale” on a weekly basis, at 4.00pm on a Friday for the following Monday to Sunday week.
  • The afternoon or evening's allocation is released for cash sale if it is not taken by noon on the day performance.
  • Theatre staff and their immediate family are not eligible for free tickets.
  • Personal data must be collected from 16-25 year olds for Arts Council England reporting purposes.
  • All usual terms & conditions in each of the three theatres also apply to your booking.
